My knees!
So the day started off very lazily. I woke up at 1pm! Yeah, I know – how did I manage to sleep that late? I have no idea. I’m guessing the workout from the night before tired me out. Either way its 100% ridiculous. A grown man should not be sleeping in that late.
So, back to the story. Once up, I took some multi-vitamins and made breakfast. A quick breakfast, as it was so late in the day. I got dressed and planned to hit the gym, after my days errands. I popped off a few sets of sissy push-ups (feet on the ground and my arms on the coffee table) and went on my way. At around 6pm I call the gym to check their hours and a bombshell was dropped: Kids club is closed at 2pm on Saturdays. The gym is ruled out, I have my kids. So instead I figured I would do sprints and lunges done at home
I stopped for a quick dinner, the kids were starving. Johnny Rockets, grease heaven. I ordered a garden salad (no cheese) with tuna and they got the greasy food with fries. The manager was nice enough to get me plain tuna, instead of the tuna salad they have pre-made. I also had a piece of wheat toast.
Next up was the grocery store.
My Shopping list:
- Organic brown eggs (Egglands best)
- Egg-beaters
- Swiss Cheese
- Feta Cheese
- Bear Natural Granola
- Low-fat Cottage cheese
- Organic Vanilla Yogurt
- Natural Peanut butter (with flax seeds and flax oil)
- Roast beef (Boars head/Deli)
- Turkey(Boars head/Deli)
- Chicken(Boars head/Deli)
- Green Onions
- Yellow Onion
- Green Peppers
- Baby spinach
- Broccoli
- Celery
- Chicken breast
- Canned Tuna
- Grapefruit juice (Florida’s Natural)
- Whole-wheat bread
This should be enough to start the week off. I plan on being a little monotonous at first, until I get used to the calorie intake. I really enjoy cooking so there is plenty I can do with this, and the stuff I already have at home.
Once home I was ready to get don to business. I jogged around the yard twice for a quick warm-up. Then I walked off 20 yards and started to run sprints. I only got in 10 sprints before I was really winded. I took a few minute break and started to do lunges of the same distance.
My Knees!
This is where my weight really started to show. I used to do lunges all the time. They are certainly not my favorite activity, but I was able to do them. With every lunge I felt strain on my knees. I slowed down, watched my form and still felt the pain. I would rate the pain a 6 on a 1-10 scale. Not too bad, but enough to know I’m an idiot for letting it get this bad. I called it quits after about 5 lengths. I feel it in my butt and my thighs. I finish my workout off with 3 sets of 12 sissy push-ups and crunches. I hate working my abs, so I try to do them slow and focus.
I didn’t do very well eating today. I only ate 3 times.
Meal 1: Turkey sandwich (toasted wheat bread, turkey and american cheese), 1 cup cottage cheese
Meal 2: 4 sticks celery filled with natural peanut butter
Meal 3: Garden salad with plain tuna, 1 slice wheat toast
Not enough, I know.
In summary, while I ate good food, I did not eat enough. I didn’t get a proper workout in, though I did make an effort to be active. I woke up way too late and the day snowballed because of it.
Thoughts?

Mikey, you need to start upping your calories! You know your body will end up holding onto the adipose tissue if you starve it. You need FAR more calories than that!
By the way, try ground bison. It’s really really low in fat and is great for spaghetti or anything else you normally use ground beef in.
I love Buffalo! Good, but expensive.
This day, Sunday was a little tough because I slept SOO long! I’m getting better as time goes on. I know I need to eat more, its just training myself to eat! I don’t usually eat a lot, or very often. It’s getting myself back into that routine!
